Tanner's Home!

Took the day off of sewing to pick Tanner up from the airport. He made it home safe and sound from Austria and is sawing logs in his bed. Feels so good to have him home!

So, tomorrow, no excuses. The purses have to get done and another step needs to get done on the motorcycle quilt.

July 9th's Adventure

This morning I spent Golfing with friends another one of my addictions. I was very distracted however. Why were you distracted you ask. Well, I'll tell you.

My son (who inspired me to start quilting) is traveling in Austria for 10 days for a soccer tournament. He was very home sick the first night and then last night they got back late after the opening ceremonies for the tournament and couldn't fall asleep and couldn't get his alarm clock to work so was worried that he wouldn't wake up on time the next day. They are 9 hours ahead of us so bedtime for him would have been between 11am and 1pm our time. I haven't heard from him yet. So, this is either good that he had a great day and is sleeping away, or bad that they have had another long day and they are not yet back to their rooms. I am hoping for the first.

So, now that I am home I think I will lose myself (distraction technique) into my most recent project. I always have a couple started, but the one that has the shortest deadline is a quilt for a good friend that helped us raise money for our son's trip. He loves motorcycles and rides a Harley so my husband commissioned a quilt for him. I found this really cool grey fabric with black print that has skulls and other neat designs on it, very manly. Then have paired some whites, blacks and black with grey. I am doing a simple design with 6" blocks and stripes, then will stencil some designs on the solid black and white blocks before I quilt it.

Give me an hour or so and I will post some progress pictures for comments and feedback. :)

suzyQuilts Estore Now Open

I have always wanted to be able to sell my quilts and creations online, but with a hectic schedule of work, kids, soccer practice, swim lessons, coaching soccer, quilt guild and more I have not had a moment of extra time! Quilting has remained my escape from all of this.

Recently the company I was working for closed it's doors and with the economy the way it is there aren't many opportunites for a talented construction Project Manager. So, I decided that now was the time to get started, but how do I do it?

While doing some research online to see how many people out there are selling items similar to what I am making I stumbled across a great website; www.etsy.com. After wandering around the site and seeing all the wonderful things other artisans are doing (yes it was hard not to spend any money) I decided this would be a great place for me to showcase my creations.

I hope that you will visit my store at suzyqquilts.etsy.com. I have some great items I have already made, leave me a message, make me one of your favorites and if you don't see exactly what you want click on the custom item request button on the right hand side and I'll make you exactly what you want.

Thanks!
