It's Coming...Christmas!

Well with Thanksgiving officially over and the clock well on it's way through Black Friday it's time to hang on and hold your breath because Christmas is on it's way.  With the economy continuing to force most people to pinch pennies and make the budget stretch just that much further, here are some great ideas for handmade gifts.  Remember when you are buying handmade you are generally getting MUCH better quality for a better price than if you purchased commercially.  Plus you know that someone locally made that original item just for you!

STOCKING STUFFERS:

Koffee Kuffs ($5) are fantastic stocking stuffers or gifts for co-workers, coaches, teachers etc.  Just get a coffee gift card, slide it inside and you have a great gift that they will love.

These Koffee Kuffs are reversable, reuseable, machine washable and ecofriendly.  No more throwing away the paper ones or suffering when they run out or forget to give you one!

Re-Useable Sandwich Bags and Snack Sacks ($5 and $3) are perfect stocking stuffers and great for mom.  No more buying the plastic ones and you just turn these inside out and wipe them down.  If they get too dirty just throw them in the wash and air dry over a jar.

Kidpacks ($10) are the best grab 'n go backpack.  Throw in your towel and swimsuit and you are ready for swim lessons, cleats and shinguards and you are ready for soccer practice, some jammies and a tooth brush and grammies house here you come!  The top cinches closed and the chording creates the straps.

Great Gifts:

Personalized Christmas Stockings. ($20) Make every Christmas memorable with these elegant christmas stockings.  Choose your colors, and your inscription and they are custom made just for you.  Fonts can be changed as well as quilting style to make it just as you invisioned your perfect stocking.  The stockings measure 18" from cuff to toe and 8" across the opening making this stocking great for many many stuffers.  The stockings are finished off with a ribbon hanging loop.

Mother and Daughter Aprons (Set $40) will liven up your kitchen and make your little one fee like a true Sioux Chef!  Aprons are made to order in Adult sizes S,M,L,XL and kids sizes 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 and 9-10.  Other fabrics can be chosen as well.

Figgy Pudding Table Runner: ($35) This great table runner will compliment any Christmas Feast and get you in the mood every day up until the feast.  It is made from Moda's Figgy Pudding line which is quickly becoming one of my favorites!  This runner can also be made with the coordinating red fabrics instead of the blues.

Hand Painted Totes:  ($35) These tote bags are one of a kind and so much fun.  They are the perfect size for your lunch a water bottle, wallet and cell phone.  Or a quick overnight getaway.  They are machine washable and reversable.

Quilts Quilts Quilts.  Quilts are the best gift I can think of!  They are cozy and comforting and the person receiving will have something to treasure for many years to come and the will always know who it was from. The Figgy Pudding ($225) quilt features Moda's Figgy Pudding line of fabrics, great for the holiday season.  Mocha Madness ($195) is made with Moda's Mocha Meringue line.  This quilt craftily combines warm brown tones with cool grey tones to make it a sumptuously snuggly quilt.  Everytime I see it I just want to snuggle in front of the fire!

All of these great gift items can be found at Suzy-Q's on Etsy.

Figgy Pudding Galore!

My first Figgy Pudding quilt sold in record time...for me...under 24 hours.  I decided since it was so popular I would make another one.  While at the fabric store I just couldn't resist and purchased more Figgy Pudding by Moda fabrics for a softer green, blue, brown colorway.  While cutting the fabrics for the quilt I decided to see just how much I could get out of the scraps.  So, here's what I ended up with in addition to the quilt:

Quilted Journal Cover

and 4 Koffe Kuffs!

New Stuff!

I promised an update with the new items that I have been creating.  Today is your lucky day!  My newest completed treasure is this Figgy Pudding Quilt:

This great quiltis made with 9 fabrics from Moda's Figgy Pudding line.  This has become one of my all time favorite sets of Christmas fabrics.  I love the color combinations and the way they added the blues with the traditional reds and greens.  The center of this quilt is made from 3" squares.  The squares were arranged by usings a Sudoku puzzle.  There are 4 sets of 9x9 squares put together, 4 puzzles.  Then it is trimmed with a 2" border of a tonal red and then a 4" border of the multi colored speramint pattern.  The finished quilt measurs 60"x60" and is machine washable.

Next I decided that when I am doing my craft shows I need to have some lower priced items.  So While having coffee the other day I decided on Re-Useable Koffee Kuffs.  These turned out great.  They are Re-Useable, Re-Versible and Machine Washable.  Each Kuff features two coordinating fabrics and they fit all cup sizes from a tall to a Venti.  Here are a couple of the great patterns:

Treasuries Galore!

In the last week I have not been fortunate to have much computer time, but have been creating, creating, creating!  Getting ready for three craft shows is alot of work!  However, some great Etesians gave me the honor of being featured in their treasuries.  I thought I would take a moment to get caught up, show these great treasuries and feature a couple of items from their wonderful shops!

The first treasury was on 10-21 and was curated by MiniMade and was titled Earth and Sky.  Mini featured my Mocha Madness Quilt.

Mini has a great shop on Etsy where she features handmade quilts, wall hangings, table runners, backpacks, pin cushions and tea coozies.  Here are some items from a great new fabric line:

The next treasury was a great color combination titled Orangberry and curated by QuiltFinger.  In this treasury, my Pretty in Pink journal was featured.

QuiltFinger has some amazing quilted pillow covers, quilts and other quilted items. Here are three of my favorites from her shop.

On 10-26 the JLilyHandmade team featured my Teacher Appreciation Quilt in the bright and cheery Rainbow Colors Treasury.

JLilyHandmade both quilted fabric items as well as knited items.  Here are a couple of my favorites from their shop.

On October 28th my Dandelion quilt was featured by MiniMade again in her Comfy Cozy and Quilted Treasury.  This treasury was so stricking with the black and whites with a punch of red here and there.

On the First of November OriginalsbyLaurenToo featured my Mocha Madness quilt in her Snuggle Up Treasury:

Lauren has two great shops, the first is OriginalsbyLauren featuring gorgeous quilts, aprons and other quilted items.  Then there is her new shop OriginalsbyLaurenToo where she is featuring great kids clothing.  She made a fantastic "twirl skirt" for my 3rd grader that is forever in the dirty laundry because she wears it so much!  It is similar to this skirt in her shop:

Some of my other favorites from her Too shop are:

You have to check these out in her Original shop:

Finishing off with the most recent one, yesterday the 7th I my Mocha Madness Quilt was included in QuiltFingers Golden Brown Treasury.  This one is still available for your viewing pleasure:

I hope you take the time to visit these great shops and check out their fantastic items.
